The scare began about 5:20 p.m. on Thursday when a caller threatened that a ShopRite supermarket on the 1200 block of Chews Landing Road was "going to blow up," according to Gloucester Township police.
Police officers began to evacuate the supermarket, then expanded the precaution to surrounding businesses in the Market Place Shopping Center, they said.
No explosive devices were found after a search by K-9 dogs from the Camden County Sheriff's Office.
Fire departments and EMS from Gloucester Township assisted in the response.
The incident remains under investigation.
